I have to admit, that I really like Nicki Minaj.
Not because she is a hot lyricist. I do like a few of her songs but some of her lyrics can be a little questionable for my taste. I consider myself a lady.
Not just because she is absolutely gorgeous. I mean come on! What woman can make the faces she does and remain so adorable!

Not just because of her fashion. I really think that she has come a very long way since the days of stooping low in a bikini sucking on a lollipop.
Because, I think under all the color wigs and the crazy faces she cares.

About what you ask?
Well for the past year, Ms. Nicki has been doing her best to tone down her over the top sexy image and cater to her younger audience of women. There are so many teens that are drawn to her colorful character which we see on stage and in videos that she decided to take a stepback and reflect on her responsibility to her fans.
“It makes me feel guilty because I know how I am with my 12-year old brother… very strict. Every now and then I feel like I gotta censor it but censoring it too much I wouldn't be Nicki Minaj. I think a part of what they like is I'm the naughty girl. The core people I was rapping to I wasn't expecting them to be young. So all the stuff I was saying…if I was to do a show and clean up [and cater] to both sides of the spectrum, I don't even know how I [could] make that happen.”
There are not many asrtists today that think this way about their young and impressionable fans. As young poeple they have a tendency to immulate those that they think are "in" and not every image that they rock is one that is worthy or classy.

She may still share a little sex appeal, but it had toned down drastically especially depending on her audience.
"Nicki Minaj is not going to be about sex appeal. I’m always gonna be sexy,” Minaj told AllHipHop.com “It’s okay to be sexy but you have to also balance that with your music that’s what I learned and that’s what I’m doing. I’m not the next anybody, I’m the new Nicki Minaj,” she said. May 20, 2009.
So far, the Harajaku Barble has lived up to her promise to change her appearance and has been wearing really fun and colorful ensembles.

Just recently she visited Wendy Williams to talk, sing and promote her new album, “Pink Friday” and I loved what she had to say about what young women should be focusing on...
As a young lady with goals and ambitions, I couldn’t agree more that we as young women should be more concerned about thinking big, doing our best to accomplish our tasks in life, and living our dreams to the fullest. This will ensure that we make a difference in the lives of our families, friends, and communities. Whether celebrities want to be heros or not, they have a responsibility to the youth because what they say and do will affect tomorrow.
So hats off to Nicki Minaj for putting forth an effort!
What are your thoughts on her appearnace?
