I love a really great pair of leggings and I know that I found them when I went to visit www.DeCordon.com! These cute numbers look great with a really cute long top or turn a really cute short dress into a funky top. I am one that doesn’t show my legs very much so these are a perfect look for me. Once you put on a pair of funky heels you are good to go!
Since we are on the subject of tights/leggings, there are a few fashion dos and don’ts that I have when it comes to leggings and I feel obligated to share:
DO NOT wear short shirts with leggings. It is really a fashion don’t because leggings are NOT meant to be worn as pants. Unless you are a dancer, leggings look best under a long top or with a shirt that at least covers the buttocks.
DO NOT wear stretched leggings (not a good look). If your leggings stretch out to your skin and become transparent, then they are not the right size and you should get a size bigger. Be sure that you also feel comfortable in your leggings because they are made for comfort and flexibility.
DO have black leggings. You can never go wrong with a pair of black leggings in your closet. Black leggings are a great way to tone down showing too much skin and adding a little chic. Try them under a pair of short denim and watch heads turn.
DO NOT wear flesh tone leggings! You shoud know why! LOL...unless your a ballerina then your should not be wearing them!
DO wear colorful leggings. My fashion friend Latasha Hall, designer of Lillie Designs got the idea! At Philly Fashion Week 2012, she paired most of her short dresses with fun and colorful tights that complemented the dresses wonderfully!
DO wear with boots, flats and wedged heels. Don’t believe me, take a look!
DO NOT wear leggings with pills on them (they are an awful sight). If your leggings are beginning to hold tightly to those little pieces of lint, then these leggings are only meant to be worn as house pants.
DO know when to wear your leggings. Some leggings are for the winter and some are for the spring. So be sure that you feel the texture of your tights before purchasing them so that you know that they are the ones that you want for the season.
DO keep them clean, it's easy. It has been my opinion that the best way to keep your leggings/tights looking fresh and new is to wash them by hand and let them air dry. This will help you avoid those annoying little pills.
The first difference between tights and leggings is the material used to make them. As a general rule, tights are slightly thinner than leggings, and are not intended to be worn alone.
Leggings are made of thicker material, and though it is not often recommended in fashion, they may be worn alone and are often used for working out. Tights may also be made of thicker material, however, and once worn with a dress and boots, can be impossible to tell apart from leggings.
