Hey Fashionistas!
Wow, last weekend there were so many places to go, and so many things to see during September in Philadelphia and yes, they were all fashion related! The Philadelphia Collection finally winded down last with the FBH Philadelphia Fashion Week Couture Show on Saturday night. I can tell you this: It seemed that all of the elite of the fashion industry in Philadelphia was there to say farewell to Fashion Week for September.

I was totally pleased with my look for the evening as I was styled in a very vintage look. I wore a one pieced creamed colored jumpsuit with wide legs, with a cream and black striped shawl that looked amazing! My look was accented by a long strand of champagne colored pearls, a teal colored feather hair clip and teal colored gloves with faux fur. A thin gold chained belt around my waist and creamed colored heels. I cannot forget my beautiful large gold, flower, statement ring. Yes, I was feeling very vintage chic. There were so many people that came up to me and said that I looked like I was from the era of the 40’s and 50’s. I was more than pleased as that was the look I was going for and I achieved it thanks to my awesome stylist, Giovanni Styles. She is absolutely AMAZING!!!

The placed was packed and almost at standing room only capacity when we arrived at the Art Cranes Building which was a lat minute change due to the weather, but that did not deter the people that had to be a part of the finale to the Philadelphia Collection and Philadelphia Fashion Week.

Before the show and people were still coming in!
I immediately ran into my runway coach and mentor Kevin Parker who is half of the amazing producers and founders of Philadelphia Fashion Week. He told me that he was so very glad that I made it and that I needed to be seated swiftly to my seat. As I made my way in, I was quickly greeted by the awesome event coordinator, and Philly’s most stylist gentleman, Cameron Washington, who was in charge of seating, and he promptly escorted my mother and me to our seats which were smack dab in the front! I mean I have always been seated in the front but this was so close that I could see all details of the clothing and shoes, phenomenal!

I had the chance to mingle with some of my fashionable colleagues which included fashion stylist, Naomi A. Williams, Angela Edmunds owner of Showroom 77, Shelia (Sheshe Laghost) fashion stylist, and so many others.
There were amazing designs that graced the catwalk that evening and I was in awe. There were so many styles that caught my attention but the following designers that became my favorites were:
Veronica Couture- Her wedding dresses were dreamy and filled with lots of body and pizazz. Angelic whites with beading and cuts that would make any wedding day heavenly.

Michael Thomas shared his talents from his Faithful collection that were fun, flirty and fabulous. Not scared to reach each woman’s feminine side with ruffles and pretty pastels that are sure to be seen on the women of Philly.

Mike Sam of English Clientele who had such a classy and chic brand, makes clothes for women that like to make a statement that oozes chic! Most of his clothing is inspired by the fashions of the women of the 40’s and can be worn in almost every occasion. My favorite of the evening!!!!

On a more personal note, it was really nice to see the producers of the show, Kevin Parker and Kerry Scott’s, dream come true. To make Philadelphia recognized for having its own fashion sense and not being overshadowed by the famous New York Fashion Week, took a lot of work!

I remember when I attended the very 1st Philly Fashion Week, 5 years ago that was held outside in the courtyard of City Hall—the potential was great then and because they were able to have others see their vision too, it has become an important week in Philadelphia. The event has become so popular that many celebrities like Tichina Arnold, and Gen of Gen’s Guiltless Gourmet, and many others celebrities are making their way to the event not to mention the loads of press and standing room audience!

Now the fashion events for the month are over, I able to breathe a little and focus on some other exciting things that are happening in my life. I can’t wait to share but got to wait until all of the T’s are crossed and the I’s are dotted!!! It is finally over and it was amazing!
I now have to get my I loved it but it was time for me to bring my attention to my school work, family and blogging like I always do. Head out of the fashion bag and get back to family, school and blogging….
Speaking of school--- I’m off to do my homework!
