Dear Fashion Diary,
After my journey that took all day to New york City (I can only blame SEPTA!!!), I finally arrived at “We Run the Night” Fashion Industry Networking Mixer planned by some of my close fashion friends, Eboyne Jackson of Divine Influence PR and Jessica Lynn of J'Lynn Design Agency. These young women are makinga great name for themselve in the fashion industry and I was glad to show my support of their first event. Special guest of the evening was Emily B. of Love and Hip Hop ATL. I unfortunately missed seeing her but I hear that she was very nice and down to earth.
When I arrived into the building, I was pleasantly greeted with a room packed wall-to-wall with fashionista and fashionistos that were eager to mingle, network, and listen to experts in the fashion industry whom had their finger on the pulse of the fashion world.
Although I arrived way more than fashionably late, I did come in time to hear the panel discussions. I found most of their opinions insightful and definitely worth considering, but it was the knowledge of Juicy Magazine's online Editor, Shirea L. Carroll, that caught my attention. She had some great energy and her story about having to become humble during her bumpy journalist experience was interesting to me.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to to see my one of my fav makeup artists, Rodney Jon speak but I know that he laid that knowledge on them...lol
I also met my new fashion friend, Essence Gant in person (love her) and a few other awesome fashioistas and fellow writers.
It was also good to see my girl, Kia Denise of From My Style 2 Urs... Philly Represent!!!
