Twice a year, we at Young Hip and Chic love to honor the many bloggers that put in hard work and dedication into making this world a more fashionable, beautiful and exciting place. Although it is mostly bloggers that are fashionistas, we don’t limit it to just fashion. We have lifestyle bloggers, plus sized bloggers and bloggers that write about the beauty of life (Chasing Joy).
We were so pleased to have so many great people in attendance for the Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event for the summer of 2012. There were people in attendance from as far as Colorado and Florida (special shout out to Ms. Cookie of Woman to Woman and Jazzy Jewelz).

Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event which is the brain-child of my parents and me, is an affair in which fashion insiders gather and seriously network and make awesome connections within the fashion community. Many of the people in attendance at our events have done many wonderful things together and that is what the event is all about!
There is also delicious food provided by Josette Cuisine and served by Pumpkin Elitou (my beautiful little sister). Josette Cuisine’s food is one of the best catering services in Philadelphia satisfies the taste buds all over the east coast. The menu consisted of: delicious devil eggs, turkey sliders with Greek dill sauce, baguette with mango salsa, stuffed chicken tomatoes and a pasta salad that people devoured…lol.

Nothing complements the food of Josette Cuisine then the deserts of Cake Couture by Sharifa Williams, her cakes are delicious!

More than 40 fashion giveaways that were spread all over the table and 40 people went home with very fashionable gifts which included free shoes from Nortin and Unique Heelz. There were awesome jewelry pieces given away by RashidaGurl, Oggy Designs, and many more.

Check out a few of the highlights here:

Fashionistas and Fashionistos in attendance also received very hefty goodie bags filled with candles, make up bags, CDs from Esnavi, and so much more.
At this Walk the Talk we had three special guest stop through:
Lacey Clark!, Founder of Phenomenally U; Sheleah Sutton, Founder of Uniquely You; and the one and only, Cheryl Wadlington, Founder of the Evoluer House. These women are near and dear to me because they have created organizations that are for the perfect growth of young women of color within our city and reaching across the globe.

Each event we also like to honor people that have given their support to young women who show great enthusiasm in the fashion industry by providing mentoring and making a path that they can follow towards success. The Guests of Honors for the day included: Rakia Reynolds (President of Skai Blue Media); Jacqueline Taylor-Adams (owner of TaylorAdams Marketing); Rashida Robinson (creator of RashidaGurl Earrings); Elizabeth Wellington (fashion columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer), and my partner in fashion Rebecca Pollard (of Can Ya Heel Me? blog). Unfortunately, due to other engagements, Ms. Wellington and Ms. Pollard where not able to make it but they were surely there in spirit.
