Color-blocking is the new hot look for the Summer of 2012! Here I am rocking a beautiful maxi-skirt and shirt by Mariel Rojo! I loved the skirt because it flowed with every step I took and complimented my figure!
I then finished the look off with a pair of soft and delicate earrings by Mijourne and a bold and bright necklace and bracelet by Luxe Baby Jewlery! And who can go wrong with a pair of simple yellow pumps?
Things have finally settled down for me and I am so excited to finally be giving you my recap of the event, “Walk the Talk and Accessories Party” that took place on 12/10/11. Get ready because I have a lot to say.
Well, first let me give you a little history. My mom, a woman with many ideas, and I came up with the idea that we should have an event that centers around the accessories that we love so much and that is and jewelry. We ran it past my dad who is also great at event planning and he thought it was a really good idea too.
So we next decided to take it to my Facebook friends and see if they would be interested in attending such an event. There were so many people that liked it and said that they would attend in just five minutes that I was in shock with excitement. But there was one comment that stood out to me like a pair of Jimmy Choo heels in a line of Nine West shoes… That was the post of Rebecca Pollard, of Can Ya Heel Me? She stated that not only would she love to attend but she would also like to be a part of this historical event. After a few emails back and forth, and conversing with my mom and dad, the party was on and I had a partner-in-fashion and I could not ask for a better person to be my support.
So I will spare you all the detail planning, but I will share with you why I consider it a historical event. THIS WAS MY FIRST EVENT, EVER!!! I have been to many affairs but this baby was a brainchild of me and my family, and my new found sister in fashion, Rebecca, said that this was her first event planning too. How cool was that???
Now my fashionistas friends, I love good food and there is nothing like a good fashion show. So imagine my excitement when I found out that I will be attending a cake tasting and fashion show all in one!!!
Are you ready for "Pastries to Hit the Runway". Cake Couture Events Galore will be hosting their first ever showcase, to celebrate their one year anniversary! Everyone will get to enjoy cake samples and pastries but that's not all. A fashion show will take place, entertainmentand event consultations. The showcase will feature local entrepreneurs and display their talents. One of the deigners in attendance will be PrettyPrettyRebel and accesories fashionista, Stephanie Crisler of Mijourne will also be displaying her beautiful jewlery.
Let’s face it; bloggers are becoming very important people to the media world.
They are even used in media outlets as insiders and experts on topics from fashion to mothering, and the blogging world is getting bigger and better.
Most of these everyday people are consumers that share their thoughts and opinions on products, events and/or their expertise with people who value their interests because they too are everyday people.
There are more than 2,000,000 bloggers in fashion and beauty alone (via Wikipedia.org) that talks about everything from hair care, to fashion, to beauty and more but they all have two things in common: Avid readers and the ability to make a product sell right off the shelves!
On December 10, 2011 you will have the opportunity to reach more than 300+ confirmed bloggers from the Philadelphia, New York City and New Jersey areas that are eager to blog about what they have received thanks to your participation.
I am a little late with this because I have been hitting the books (school) but I had to share this with you.
On October 9, 2011, I was asked to take part in a commercial for DivaEars. It was a project that I was pleased to do. DivaEars are created by Kiki Hall and they are a collection of earrings that have a very fascinating weave pattern made from ribbons and I am still trying to figure out how she closes them without the ribbon fraying…lol!
