Dear Fashion Diary,

After my journey that took all day to New york City (I can only blame SEPTA!!!), I finally arrived at “We Run the Night” Fashion Industry Networking Mixer planned by some of my close fashion friends, Eboyne Jackson of Divine Influence PR and Jessica Lynn of J'Lynn Design Agency. These young women are makinga great name for themselve in the fashion industry and I was glad to show my support of their first event. Special guest of the evening was Emily B. of Love and Hip Hop ATL. I unfortunately missed seeing her but I hear that she was very nice and down to earth.

When I arrived into the building, I was pleasantly greeted with a room packed wall-to-wall with fashionista and fashionistos that were eager to mingle, network, and listen to experts in the fashion industry whom had their finger on the pulse of the fashion world.

Hey Fashionistas:

If you are a friend on Facebook and the Twitter (I love saying that!), then you know the relationship between myself, Jessica Lynn and my heart, Eboyne Jackson of Divine Influence. Well, these young ladies who are dynamos will show their powerhouse skills of connecting fashion insiders together to create an event that will be like no other in the city of New York, NY.

J’Lynn Designs Agency by Jessica Lynn, (JLDA), is an organization and affiliate association created to manage and help endorse upcoming talented artists of all types and genres, and on August 11, 2012 at the luxurious Studio Arte in the heart of the fashion district, JLDA will present its first annual networking soiree—We Run the Night, a high-profile fashion industry networking mixer sponsored by Beautiful Textures, Fragoli, PopChips, and Rosa’s Cupcake Garden. We Run the Night, will allow music, fashion, and entrepreneurship to collide bringing out the area’s best company of celebrities, tastemakers, and socialites for a night of fabulous networking.

The event will be headlined by R&B sensation, Jade Alston; as well as feature a surprise celebrity guest, who I look forward to seeing, along with an open panel discussion lead by top industry insiders such as relationship author and Essence Magazine columnist, Demetria L. Lucas (A Belle in Brooklyn), celebrity journalist and Juicy Magazine web editor, Shirea L. Carroll, YRB Magazine Creative Director, and celebrity stylist, Darius Baptist, Black Enterprise Magazine Finance Editor, LaToya Smith, Kontrol Magazine Beauty Editor and celebrity hair stylist, Pekela Riley (Salon PK), celebrity makeup artist, Theresa Francine, and women's wear designer, Gwen Beloti. Each keynote speaker will share in their areas of expertise in various topics such as relationships, career/finance, fashion, beauty, hair, styling, and media, promising to deliver an unforgettable evening of fashionable excitement--complete with live entertainment, networking, and shopping.

Fashion enthusiasts will also partake in luxurious raffles and shop the latest fashion and beauty products provided by on-site vendors as they feast on delectable treats by Rosa’s Cupcake Garden and sip Fragoli’s “Passion” cocktail, a mix of the Fragoli Liqueur and Passionne Prosecco. One lucky guest will also have the opportunity to win a head-to-toe makeover courtesy of the Glaminator team—Lil Kim’s stylist, Scot Louie and celebrity makeup artist, Rodney Jon, another person that I appreciate in the beauty world.

Like Jessica Lynn, R&B Sensation Jade Alston’s goal is to aspire. “To headline such a dynamic event is extremely exciting,” Jade Alston states. “Not only do I get to do what I love, I get to share my stories about life, love and relationships. My goal with my performance is to inspire.”

“We Run the Night” will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Studio Arte located on 265 West 37th Street, New York, NY 10018.
