One day while on facebook, I got a message from a young lady named, Cece Oliver that said she would like to send me a few pieces from her jewelry line. Like most young ladies, I love a good piece of jewelry and was excited to receive a piece from her.
Immediately after opening the package, I fell in love with the earrings that she sent me. The earrings were awesome feathers in the color of red, black and yellow that were long and had a chain attached. I was impressed with her work and looked forward to working with her again.
Well I had the chance at the Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event where she sponsored the event with great giveaways that caught the attention of many of the women in attendance and they all were interested in many of the pieces.
Well, recently, I had the chance to chat it up with the young lady behind the jewelry that she considers to be captivating and glamorous works of art.
YHC: When did you begin your business?
CeCe: I started G.E.M.M.Z By CeCe in late 2011.
YHC: Why did you decide to make jewelry?
CeCe: I decided to make jewelry because I LOVE jewelry, and I would buy so much that I started thinking “I could make some of this stuff!!”
YHC: Tell me about GEMMZ.
CeCe: G.E.M.M.Z stands for Genuine Eccentric Memorable Masterpieces. Every piece at G.E.M.M.Z is unique and very much speaks for itself. Most of my jewelry is hand painted and handmade, I also work with polymer clay and make pieces with that. I try to aim for a different, out of the box look that most people would not create or would not be found in stores.
YHC: What is your inspiration behind your jewelry?
CeCe: My inspiration behind my jewelry is to make people to feel like a work of art when they wear my pieces and to create items that were different from those that were usually seen in stores.
YHC: What do you want people to feel when they wear your jewelry?
CeCe: I want people to feel as if they are a work of art.
