I am officially a Bebop Girl and I am in love with Bebop Clothing.
I really wanted something cute to wear for Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event, and I had the idea that I wanted to be dressed in something that appeared to look vintage, but with a new school twist.
I was sent the really cute Baroque, gilded gold dress from Bebop and I paired it with a pair of black tights and T-strapped shoes with a small fan detail. I also got a really cute feather band from Plain Elain and jewelry from Venus Visuals and G.E.M.M.Z.
I really loved the feel and the look of my dress. It had a really good fit. I was pleased by the amount of compliments that I received from the many fashionistas in attendance. It was really important to look and feel great and that I did!
We were so honored to have 3rd Element Spa and Salon as one of our Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event. This full service spa located in the West Oak Lane area of Philadelphia, PA is a gem when you want to relax, unwind and get the beauty treatment that you know you deserve.
In 2005, 3rd Element Spa & Salon was founded by Chyvonne and Tomika from the Philadelphia area and since its inception and humble beginnings in a 12’ by 20’ space in the rear of an existing salon, 3rd Element has grown to become West Oak Lane’s premier full service spa and salon.
Tomika, Tweety, and Chyvonne
I had the opportunity to visit the salon and it has a wonderful ambiance. As soon as you walk in you feel welcomed by the staff especially the owners, Chyvonne and Tomika. The green room where you receive your full body massage treatment is so awesome and it allows you to receive your massage alone or with a partner.
On 12/15/12, YHC, Showroom77 and Can Ya Heel Me? hosted another successful fashion networking event filled with great sponsors, awesome vendors, real cool giveaways and food that tasted like heaven!
The Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event is held twice a year in order to bring fashion insiders together to make connections and do real business. There are stylist, bloggers, designers, and boutique owners that come from NYC, NJ, DC, NC, and even the great place of Brazil just to get in on the mixing and mingling.
Each year, Rebecca and I (along with my parents, Aalim and Heather Elitou) plan the event to be one to talk about and that happens when you have a great hostess like Angela Edmunds of Showroom77, who is always so gracious and opens her doors. Showroom77 is a premier Showroom that is located in the elite Society Hill of Philadelphia, PA and the location is very private and quaint. A place where an invitation is a MUST!
Just recently we had the pleasure of being sponsored for Walk the Talk Exclusive Fashion Event by the awesome jewelry of Oggy Designs. The jewelry is simply amazing!
Each piece is handmade and the semi-precious stone pieces are all hand selected from the wonderful designer, Timea Talian. Each accessory piece is one-of-a-kind. Agate, Amethyst, Coral, Jasper, Fresh Water Pearls, Mother of Pearls to Turquoise are just some of the stones that she uses in order to create wearable works of art. Her jewelry collection consists of semi-precious stones and beads that create interesting mixes of color. She strives to grasp the essence of nature and integrate it into contemporary fashion trends.
Walk the Talk is back! Get ready for another fabulous event that brings together fashionistas from Philly, NY, NJ DE and all over! There will be beautiful shoes and accessories from Pnk Elephant Accessories and beauty products from our exclusive sponsor!
Take a look at the last Walk the Talk in Decemeber and see why you should be at the next!
So on March 23, 3012 I attended a really cool networking event for bloggers at the new Venue 4605 in Philly, PA. The venue is very low key and almost hard to detect, but once my mom and I figured it out, we were at the right place, we were ready to network.
It was nice to finally meet the face to the name Zsavon Ramseur, she is the manager of Venue 4605, the lovely host of the evening, and the founder of Simply Z Events. She brought together some really great new bloggers and vets (like me! LOL) and it was just a really down-to-earth atmosphere.
Although there were not a lot of people, it was enough to fill the social gap and make connections that could last a lifetime.
Things have finally settled down for me and I am so excited to finally be giving you my recap of the event, “Walk the Talk and Accessories Party” that took place on 12/10/11. Get ready because I have a lot to say.
Well, first let me give you a little history. My mom, a woman with many ideas, and I came up with the idea that we should have an event that centers around the accessories that we love so much and that is and jewelry. We ran it past my dad who is also great at event planning and he thought it was a really good idea too.
So we next decided to take it to my Facebook friends and see if they would be interested in attending such an event. There were so many people that liked it and said that they would attend in just five minutes that I was in shock with excitement. But there was one comment that stood out to me like a pair of Jimmy Choo heels in a line of Nine West shoes… That was the post of Rebecca Pollard, of Can Ya Heel Me? She stated that not only would she love to attend but she would also like to be a part of this historical event. After a few emails back and forth, and conversing with my mom and dad, the party was on and I had a partner-in-fashion and I could not ask for a better person to be my support.
So I will spare you all the detail planning, but I will share with you why I consider it a historical event. THIS WAS MY FIRST EVENT, EVER!!! I have been to many affairs but this baby was a brainchild of me and my family, and my new found sister in fashion, Rebecca, said that this was her first event planning too. How cool was that???
We are so excited to work with the talented lady of the newly deisgned, online boutique, Fabulyss!!!
Alyssa Danese is not just a pretty face but she has a lot of style! And it was her sense of style that made her create the online boutique that has so many great choices to look and feel fab!
What makes the boutique awesome is the prices: VERY REASONABLE!!!
I had the chance to speak with Alyssa about the boutique and this is what she had to say....
So when did u know that you were in love with fashion?
I knew as far back as I can remember. My mom always reminds me how she would find me on the beach as an infant trying on strangers sandals, and how in elementary school I would insist on tucking my white washed jeans into my hot pink tube socks.
When did you know that you had an eye for fashion?
Once I could shop for my own clothes in middle school and all my friends would ask me, "Where did you get that?"
Tell us about Fabulyss boutique?
FabuLyss was an ongoing idea that I finally took action to this year. I realized a long time ago that fashion is my passion and what brings me happiness, I just didn't know where to start. I wanted to be able to help others girls look and feel good about themselves at a reasonable price, unlike other boutiques.
I am all for art!!! I am also a shoe lunatic!!! That's right, I love a pair of funky shoes that represent me and what I am all about. Allow me to introduce you to a woman after my own heart.
In 2009, artist Lauren Luna took her paintings from the walls to the floor. Initially painting on canvas sneakers, then leather, heels, eventually evolving into full embellishments of stilettos. She has now manufactured her footwear in less the time that she imagined and now that leaves her with more time to stretch and reach for the stars!!!
Luna formed her company, Lauren Luna LTD with the individual in mind. Never one to fit in, Lauren Luna Ltd. is a custom footwear company specializing in the everyday casual sneakers to the couture stilettos designed to be one of a kind for people who love to stand out and have you wearing shoes that make a statement. I chatted with Lauren about her interest in art and making fabulous shoes more fabulous!!!
